60% drop in motor vehicle offences since 2013

The number of motor vehicle offences recorded across Scotland has dropped eight per cent since 2017/18 – from 127,015 to 117,015 – and down 60 per cent from figures reported in 2013/14. According to the latest bulletin released last week, the majority of crimes have fallen across Scotland in the last decade, with the total number of recorded crime dropping 27 per cent since 2009/10.

A quarter of millennials look at social media while driving

Recent research from Privilege Car Insurance revealed that 23 per cent of 18 to 34-year-olds cannot resist using their phones to check their social media accounts when behind the wheel. This dangerous obsession with mobiles has also led to 28 per cent of millennials reading and sending text messages while driving.

Survey Finds Lack of Awareness of Penalties for Illegal Mobile Phone Use
